Song of the Week 5

The Heavy End Of My Cross

Verse 1:🎼The day my savior walked the road to Calvary, He bore the cross, the rugged cross so willingly; His feet were worn, His back was torn, His brow was pierced with crown of thorns, He struggled ‘neath the heavy load for you and me.

Chorus: Jesus sees the rocky road and He feels the heavy load, for He climbed up Calv’ry’s hill for you and me; now He stoops and He picks up the end of my cross. The heavy end of my cross He bears for me.

Verse 2: It was my sin that made His cross so hard to bear, all my rebellion filled His loving heart with care; Then Simon came, saw Jesus’ pain, picked up the cross, that weight of shame, he followed Christ to Calvary His load to share.

Verse 3: Now I can climb the stony path content to know, that where my Master has not gone, I need not go; He helps me stand, He holds my hand, He shares my load, He understands, for me He walked the rugged road so long ago.

Chorus: Jesus sees the rocky road and He feels the heavy load, for He climbed up Calv’ry’s hill for you and me; now He stoops and He picks up the end of my cross. The heavy end of my cross He bears for me.
