The World of Monometer Poems

Published by

One very unique form of poem is the monometer: only one foot per line. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind flavor that these works of poetry have to offer

UPON HIS DEPARTURE HENCE.
By Robert Merrick

Thus I
Pass by,
And die:
As one
Unknown
And gone:
I’m made
A shade,
And laid
I’ th’ grave:
There have
My cave,
Where tell
I dwell.

Farewell.

Blue Jay
I fly
And Dive
Alive
The show
A Foe?
Who knows
So bold
I scold
And goad
Then wing
To sing
Or scream.
~Kayleen Wenger

Allergies
Sneeze sneeze
Trees and
Grass have
Descended on
Me in
Such fury
I feel
Like I
Might die
Also think
I’ll scratch
My eyes
To pieces
But I
Love this
Gentle breeze
I guess
I’ll stay
Where my
Nose wont
Run away.
~Kindra Wenger

LET GO

Man alive..
I strive
To be
More free
Above
There’s One
Whose heart
Is love
He longs
For heart
To heart
Just kneel
In prayer
He’s there
And cares
His Son
Died for
Ev’ryone
Trust Him
The end.

~S. Wenger
