Golden Hour & Beyond

There is a Time ‘mid nature’s bow’r
Arrayed in beauty like the flower
A time when the light is a wonder to see
And luster is shining on every tree
So gold is the light! So awesome the scene!
The sun shows anew it’s radiant power,
My friend, I bring you the golden hour!

Just before the sun is set
So perfect a time to introspect
If we will but stop and look to the East
Our eyes will have a glorious feast.
‘For the sun going down in a great golden ball
Had burnished the windows of his cabin so small’*
Golden hour, when for beauty, you don’t have to ‘go’,
For all about you is that burnished glow.

Then, sunset, that magical time
The horizon slices the sun
‘Till we glimpse it’s orb no more
The angled rays
Light the clouds in so many ways
A turn is given to each
Of the suspended vapors
Yellow, pink, and peach
Slowly they fade to violet haze..

But wait, there’s more…
For blue hour, and dusk
Have set up their easels
Next to daylight’s closing door.
