The many plants
Of these crop lands
Stretching out, like Sahara’s sands
The corn and the cotton,
To feed and clothe humanity,
Springing from the toil of the farmer’s hands
Or the machines which he commands.
Each plant, in this unique union: where water, soil, and nutrients become one,
Reaching up, up to that warm ingredient: our star, the sun.
